What is Origin?

Origin uses your Human Design chart as its foundation. Your birth data generates a unique set of planetary activations. Theme numbers and Aspect numbers that map your innate patterns, gifts, and the areas of life they operate in.

There is no single right way to play.

There is no winning or losing.

Origin is a game of recognition.

how it works

eight steps

Step 01

Generate Your Design

Search 'free Human Design chart' online and generate your chart using your birth data. You'll be working with your Personality Activations.

Step 02

Complete Your Imprint Sheet

On your Personal Imprint Sheet, locate each planet glyph and write in the Theme number (before the decimal) and Aspect number (after the decimal) from your chart.

Step 03

Prepare the Cards

Shuffle the Origin card deck. Lay the Grid Scroll out in front of you divided into Relational, Personal, What You Bring, and What You Become.

Step 04

Find Your Activations

Slowly search through the deck. When you find a card whose Theme number matches your Imprint Sheet, place it on the corresponding planetary square. Do not rush.

Step 05

Identify the Aspect

Return to your Imprint Sheet and locate the Aspect number for each activation. The Aspect is your highest code of conduct. The way this Theme is meant to be lived by you.

Step 06

Deepen with the Manual

Spend time with the Theme, the Aspect, the Keynotes, and the Keywords in the Origin Manual. Do not analyse. Allow meaning to arise.

Step 07

Complete the Grid

Continue searching the deck for all remaining activations. Place matching cards on the Grid Scroll. Set aside cards that do not match.

Step 08

Read the Pattern

Notice the order in which cards appeared. Early cards often point to current awareness. Later cards can indicate what is being overlooked or quietly asking to be remembered.

Personality side

Your conscious self. What you bring. The activations you are aware of and actively express in the world.

Design side

Your soul imprint. What you are becoming. The deeper patterning operating beneath conscious awareness. You can play two rounds using both sides.

Origin can also be used as a single-question oracal at any time. No chart required.

Hold a question gently in your awareness.
Shuffle the cards while allowing the question to settle in your field.
When the question feels complete, stop shuffling.
Turn over the top card. This is your Theme.
Roll the Aspect Dice. This is how the Theme applies to your question.

Theme + Aspect together form your answer. Refer to the Manual to go deeper.
